Every flat-rate quote gets written in advance, and materials — boxes, packing paper, tape, wardrobe boxes for hanging clothes — are built into that number rather than billed separately after the fact.
The MTSU crunch
Middle Tennessee State University’s May and August move-out windows are the single busiest stretch on our calendar. Whole complexes near campus empty out within about 72 hours, and a lot of families only have one weekend day to make it happen. Crew chief Dallas Prentiss leads most of our MTSU packing jobs and has learned to pack a dorm room fast without treating anything like it’s disposable — because to a college student, it usually isn’t.
We also pack a fair number of downtown-square households, where older buildings sometimes mean fragile built-ins, antique glassware passed down a few generations, or awkward closet shapes that don’t take a standard box well.
Scheduling
Packing day and moving day don’t always land on the same date, and we’ve found families often want packing done on a weeknight evening so the actual move can happen Saturday. That’s exactly why we run evening and weekend appointments at no overtime surcharge — Dalton Rucker built the whole company around that idea back in 2013.
We operate under a Tennessee Public Utility Commission household-goods permit with US DOT and MC authority, and every shipment carries up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage. Once the boxes are packed, the actual move still needs booking — see local moving or our long-distance lane for that.
